True Love

Hey there!

Wishing we had been watching the season finale together last night, especially since Geo didn't feel the gravity or the sincerity in the proposal moment - I know, he's crazy. I, on the other hand, loved every second of it.

Is there a relationship on TV that depicts true love more than the one between Mrs. Hughes and Carson? What a great way to end the weekend, and the season :)

"Well that's the point, I do want to be stuck with you"

Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. OH and Mary's new man... hotttay! I'm already looking forward to next season, although I read in an article that this next season will be the last one Maggie Smith will be in - not sure there's a show without her :/

Love you,

Bits and Pieces

Hey Mom!

Thinking about you a lot today (hence the midday call), and thought I'd give our little blog another whack. The sun is setting and I'm sitting here looking at a vase full of dead tulips that need to be thrown away and a mug half full of coffee from this morning... it wouldn't be so pitiful if the mug wasn't a Migis one which is of course a wonderful reminder of that wonderful wedding weekend :)

The flowers were really pretty, about 4 days ago...

Just as I started to write this post, this song came on which makes me think of Cull Cull's wedding, another oh-so happy Burke moment :) 2014 was a GOOD year for us!

Anyways, the weekend is just about here and I think it's going to be a good one. I just scored a full size bed, with box spring and mattress for $60! So excited that I now have a place for my peeps (aka: you, livy, yaya and anyone else who might wanna hunker down here) to stay. I'm hoping it propels you all to visit a little more - wishful thinking? haha

I also have a date planned for Geo and I tomorrow morning. I can't share what it is now because it's a surprise for him but I'll post some pics on Sunday. Hint: Vroom Vroom.

Okay, well that's it for now. Nothing too else exciting, unless you count trying out some new recipes this weekend "exciting"... oh you do? Ha, well let me share what I'll be cookin' up! PS. Geo had a say in this week's menu items, if you can't tell :)

Ina's Ribs:

Oh She Glows Soul Soothing African Peanut Soup
I can't make this image horizontal - what da heck!?
The recipe is from this Blogger's book: http://ohsheglows.com/

And lastly, after snacking on vegan goodies all week I've decided to indulge and give this beauty a shot... Rose Water Glitter Cake. YUM.

That's about it. Check in with you soon. As in: I'll probably talk to you tonight :) Love you!

So Far So Good!

Hey Mom,

Well we've been here almost a week and so far there have been NO tears. Can you believe it? I got misty eyed and anxious about it many times leading up to the big move but since we've been here I've been okay.

Maybe it's because I've been too busy to really think about it? Or maybe its because this is really good for Geo and I and my head/heart knows it? Whatever it is I'm sure the realization of it all will hit me and poor Geo will have to deal with a sloppy, teary-eyed mess! :)

The week has been a good but busy one. I go from finding places that offer wifi (no internet at the house yet) to unpacking boxes, or picking up the yard. Which reminds me last night I was wandering around the yard and found myself instinctively reaching down to yank at weeds... all those years of bitching about having to weed the yard and now I get it! :D

Before I became a grown up and spent time weeding our garden I had a meeting that went very well except for the slight hints of sexism that managed to thread itself throughout the meeting. It wasn't bad intention-ed, in fact he was very kind but his comments instantly reminded me that yes, indeed I'm a woman - boobs and all!

"You don't let them push you around right?!"
"You can put them in their place."

He said things to that effect. Not a huge deal but bothered me, especially considering one of the individuals he thought was "pushing" me around is someone I've hired, that works for me. Ha.

Anyways, there's not too much more to report. Actually, I'm going outside my comfort zone and attending a ladies night "Meet and Greet" for South Shore residents... which means I'll have to be social and friendly - woah, scary things.

Hope your day is going well :)

love,
me
